This airport, which was inactive for several years, was reopened in 2024 to connect the Chachapoyas region in particular. The villages of Yumbilla and Gocta are a 3 to 3.5-hour drive away, and Jaen a 4-hour drive. The best way to get around the region is by road, closing the loop by connecting Leymebemba to Cajamarca, where there is another airport. The Latam airline (www.latamairlines.com) serves Jaen.
