PIERRE QUIOC
For nearly 70 years, this family business has been producing scarves, stoles and ponchos. The brand combines artisanal know-how and technological innovation. Its products are certified by the Origine France Garantie label.
History. Created by Pierre Quioc in 1946, in Sainte-Sigolène (Haute-Loire), the company has always remained in the hands of the family. It was his daughter, Marie-Paule Roule, who succeeded him, and then for the past three years, the grandson, David Roule, has been in charge of the establishment. At Pierre Quioc, modern technologies work alongside professional weavers to optimize certain tasks: this is how "hand" finishing is combined with CNC Jacquard looms. All products are manufactured at the Sainte-Sigolène site and exported worldwide (Northern Europe, Japan, South Africa).
The products. Scarves, stoles, ponchos, squares, caps, innerwear and gloves in a wide variety of materials and colours.
Employment. Among the forty or so employees, some are in charge of machine maintenance while others change the yarn reels. Each year, between 800,000 and one million scarves, on average, are produced in the factory, not to mention other accessories.
