Also known as Cerro de La Paz, it is a traditional place for family walks, dominated by a huge cross. To reach the top of the hill, you have to walk 6 km. Once at the top, there is a beautiful view of the harbour surrounded by strange sugar loaf shaped hills. But it's not Rio for all that... In November and December, at nightfall, the cross lights up. Avoid taking the walk in the middle of the afternoon, as there is no shady path and the sun is strong. Very popular at weekends and on public holidays.
