MUSEO ARQUEOLÓGICO
The eleven rooms of this museum inform us about the cupisnique, salinar, virú, chimú and inca cultures. We will notice the pieces of the cultures of the formative period, notably chavín, and the superb objects of the mochica period, which perhaps gave to ancient Peru its most beautiful ceramics. Polychrome bas-reliefs and impressive grimacing masks come from the Huacas. The star room brings together the objects found in the Huaca de la Luna where human sacrifices were practiced - the bones of 90 immolated warriors have been found there.
