The marinera and its caballos de paso are the cultural assets of Trujillo, which organizes its annual National Marinera Competition. This seductive dance has a special charm under the northern sun, with its frilly skirts twirling around the lovers in cotton ponchos and big hats. The dance is also performed with the rider on horseback. The caballos de paso and their elegant walk are part of Peru's heritage. Well worth a visit.

A faire absolument!
