HUANCHACO IGLESIA
The church in the village of Huanchaco is known to be the second oldest church in Peru, dating from 1535-1540. Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria, is quite simple, with a San José in a sailor's habit standing in front of the cemetery where Víctor Raúl Haya de la Torre, the founder of the APRA (American Revolutionary People's Alliance) is buried. Although there is nothing extraordinary about the interior, we recommend that you come here for the view. Indeed, from the promontory, you can contemplate the Pacific, and Chan Chan in the distance. Beautiful at the end of the day.
