ELBOW LUNCH COUNTER
In the St. Boniface district, Tyler has recreated a corner of his native America in this little diner/delicatessen: white walls, a long counter lined with a dozen skai stools, retro posters: the New York ambience is there. Elbow to elbow at the counter, we watch the cooks prepare huge Philly cheese steaks, tuna melts or pastrami salad sandwiches. It's dripping all over the place, the coffee is unlimited, as are the smiles on the staff's faces, just like over there, and everything is delicious. The only regret: the famous Reuben sandwiches are only served on Saturdays.
