MARIE CABANAC
Marie Cabanac is an ethical fashion designer based in Brussels. Since the 1980s, she has been making her clothes from old textiles, using ecological materials such as organic cotton, fair-trade linen and silk, as well as recycled textiles. In 2003, she opened the first ethical fashion boutique in Belgium, called Ethic Wear, where she created, produced and distributed her creative and responsible clothing line. Manufacturing was handcrafted in Brussels, then industrialized in Portugal for international distribution. Since 2015, Marie Cabanac has focused on textile recycling and permacouture, experimenting with ecological solutions and sharing her skills through personalized clothing consultations. Her aim is to minimize the global ecological footprint while producing beautiful and useful clothing. She also offers training courses to pass on her knowledge of textile recycling and permacouture.
