Every year after the national holiday (21 July), the Royal Palace opens its doors to the public for about a month and a half.
Every year after the National Day (July 21), the Royal Palace opens its doors to the public for about a month and a half. Tourists and the curious pass through the various ceremonial rooms that usually welcome heads of state and other personalities during official ceremonies. Since 2002, their classical majesty has been enhanced by the presence of contemporary works of art, notably the Hall of Mirrors and its ceiling of a thousand shades: Jan Fabre covered it with a million and a half beetle shells! What's more, admission is free.
