There's never a dull moment during the Fête nationale: free entertainment punctuates the day, with a closing fireworks display.
It is impossible to be bored on this special day. Free animations for young and old punctuate the day: concerts, military demonstrations, guided tours of the Chamber and the Senate, sports initiations, etc. The Grand Resto National is also organized on the Place du Jeu de Balle for a giant mussels and French fries meal. Firemen, police and Red Cross will introduce you to their professions before the traditional fireworks (Place des Palais or Cinquantenaire). Little advice: come early to get a better view, the view is often blocked by trees.
