LE TAPIS DE FLEURS
Every two years, a carpet of begonias stretches over 75 m long and 24 m wide in the middle of the Grand-Place. A marvel!
The Tapis de Fleurs is 75 m long and 24 m wide, right in the center of the Grand-Place. Craftsmen assemble begonias directly on the cobblestones of the square, without a layer of soil. Organized in even-numbered years, this one is based on a different theme. While seeing this plant tapestry from the cobblestones of the Grand-Place is already quite something (and free), admiring it from the balcony of the Town Hall is well worth the price of admission. It was cancelled in 2020 due to Covid, but was back in 2022 to celebrate its 50th anniversary, and will return in 2024.
