An exotic visit in the king's private garden not to be missed. The royal greenhouses of Laeken open to the public once a year.
The Domaine Royal de Laeken, home to King Philippe and Queen Mathilde, dates back to the 18th century. You'll only get a quick glimpse of the palace. The Royal Greenhouses of Laeken, on the other hand, are open to the public once a year, for around three weeks in April or May. Built near the palace by Alphonse Balat, Victor Horta's master, the greenhouses house the world's oldest collection of camellias, two-hundred-year-old orange trees and thousands of plants brought back from the Congo. An exotic visit to the king's private garden, not to be missed.

Ma conjointe et moi avons visité les Serres Royales fin avril 2016. Tant l'architecture des serres que la diversité des plantes et fleures est une merveille. Dommage que ce ne soit ouvert que 3 semaines par an. Un incontournable au printemps.
