The Walloon Export and Foreign Investment Agency (AWEX) is in charge of developing and managing Wallonia's international economic relations. With regard to foreign trade, the Agency is responsible for promoting and informing both international and Walloon business circles. With regard to foreign investments, AWEX covers a general competence to promote, prospect and inform potential investors. It also actively monitors investors based in Wallonia and seeks foreign buyers for Walloon industrial sites undergoing restructuring. AWEX is also responsible for strengthening Wallonia's international brand image. AWEX has a staff of more than 400 people and about 100 offices abroad.
