Admired by Victor Hugo, the Saints-Michel-et-Gudule cathedral is a jewel of gothic style. The stained glass windows alone are worth a visit.

Visible from afar, recognizable by its Brabantine Gothic towers, the cathedral was originally the church of Saint Michael the Mount, built on one of the hills of Brussels. It was replaced by a Romanesque collegiate church in 1047. The relics of Saint Gudula were brought there from the church of Saint-Gery and the building, renamed Saints-Michel-et-Gudule, became a place of pilgrimage. The stained glass windows in the side chapels date from the 16th century, after cartoons by Bernard Van Orley.

Superbe cathédrale qui a pour particularités d'être le lieu des manifestations royales et d'abriter dans sa tour nord un couple de faucons pélerin dont on peut suivre la vie par vidéo interposée.

Tout simplement magnifique et on ne peut pas la louper. Proche de la gare centrale. Il faut surtout voir son orgue et aussi les sculptures sont superbes et minutieuses.

Pour les bruxellois, mettre un cierge à la cathédrale sainte Gudule est un appel à la chance.
Il ne faut quand même pas passer à coté de ce monument si vous aimez les bâtiments majestueux.
