Admired by Victor Hugo, the Saints-Michel-et-Gudule cathedral is a jewel of gothic style. The stained glass windows alone are worth a visit.

Visible from afar, recognizable by its Brabantine Gothic towers, the cathedral was originally the church of Saint Michael the Mount, built on one of the hills of Brussels. It was replaced by a Romanesque collegiate church in 1047. The relics of Saint Gudula were brought there from the church of Saint-Gery and the building, renamed Saints-Michel-et-Gudule, became a place of pilgrimage. The stained glass windows in the side chapels date from the 16th century, after cartoons by Bernard Van Orley.

A beautiful Gothic cathedral. I recommend it, it is absolutely magnificent. The stained-glass windows, the nave and columns supporting the 12 apostles are truly magnificent. It is to be seen));
Beautiful Gothic cathedral. Do not miss the stained-glass window of the last judgement as well as the baroque pulpit.
