RICH CHURCH
The Riches-Claires church dates from the 17th century. The building has an interesting Brabantine Baroque architecture.
The Riches-Claires nuns have been established in Brussels since the mid-14th century. The Flemish Renaissance church dates from the 17th century and was designed by Luc Fayd'herbe. It features interesting Brabant Baroque architecture. Nearby was a secondary branch of the former bed of the Senne, when this river still flowed through Brussels in the open air. A reconstruction of this can be seen (rue Saint-Géry, 23), a reminder of what the alleyways of this district were like in bygone days.
