MUSEUM MEUNIER
House-workshop presenting a collection of more than 700 works, acquired by the artist Constantin Meunier in Brussels
This beautiful house-studio, acquired by the artist Constantin Meunier (1831-1905) at the end of his life, was bought by the State in 1936, along with the collection of more than 700 works it contained, to turn it into a museum. The 150 or so paintings, sculptures and documents on display trace the artist's development in the second half of his career, during which he illustrated the social and industrial aspects of Belgium, taking as his subjects his contemporaries in their work and daily life. Regular temporary exhibitions.
