Neighborhood built in the 1930's and full of beautiful Art Deco or modernist villas
If you're a fan of Art Deco, you'll be delighted to discover the Quartier des Fleurs in Schaerbeek, so named because all the streets are named... after flowers (freesias, wisterias, hyacinths...). The whole complex was built in the 1930s and is packed with beautiful Art Deco and Modernist villas: a feast for the eyes! Notable buildings include the Sainte-Suzanne church, also Art Deco, and number 97 rue des Mimosas, where René Magritte lived from 1954 until his death. The Josaphat park bordering the neighborhood is also worth a stroll.
