ENGLISH TOWER
Tower restored and fitted out in the 1970s, presenting frequent exhibitions of photos, paintings, serigraphs...
It was at the beginning of March 1362 that a troop of Englishmen succeeded in taking the town, either by surprise or treachery. A masterpiece of late 12th-century military architecture, the Tower was restored and fitted out by Lucien Gires in the 1970s. Since then, exhibitions have been held every summer, featuring paintings, photos, serigraphs and watercolors about life in the Pays Saugain. From the top of the tower, beyond the three bronze couleuvrines, you can enjoy a superb view of the Margeride, the land of the Beast of Gévaudan's adventures.
