ENGLISH TOWER
Restored and fitted out tower in the 1970s, presenting frequent exhibitions with photos, paintings, serigraphs...
It was at the beginning of March 1362 that a troop of Englishmen succeeded in taking the town, either by surprise or by treachery. A masterpiece of military architecture from the end of the 12th century, the Tour des Anglais was restored and fitted out on the initiative of Lucien Gires in the 1970s. Since then, frequent exhibitions have been held with paintings, photos, serigraphs and watercolours on life in the Saugain region. From the top of the tower, beyond the three bronze couleuvrines, a magnificent panorama of the land of the Beast of Gévaudan is offered to you.
