A small paradise for those who love space, nature and freedom...
Far from the hectic city life, take a break from nature in the mountains,
a good breath of fresh air at 900 m altitude in the south of Auvergne, on the Vivarais-Lignon plateau between Ardèche and Haute Loire, only 1h15 from Lyon and Valence and 45 minutes from St Etienne and Le Puy-en-Velay.
Here no more noise, the mallets have ceased to strike and triturate the rag paper pulp and those who worked there are long gone. Our guest rooms bring this place full of history to life in a different way. A change of time, objects and functions. Here today we talk pleasure, we think relaxation, we listen to rest, we aspire to well-being... Our relaxation space spa balneo wood in the middle of nature includes; a hot bubbling bath, a sauna igloo traditional steam, massages well-being ...
A good breath of oxygen in the middle of a wild and preserved nature. As soon as you set down your luggage, the nearby river will whisper to you the history of the paper mill since 1645. Water being omnipresent around the gîte, you may try your hand at trout or crayfish fishing or enjoy a swim in the river, before dozing off under the hundred-year-old fir trees, lulled by the stream that once turned the paper mill wheel. Also the desire for adventure and discovery becoming too strong! you will let you go on the hiking trails of the mythical GR65 (path of St. James of Compostela) or GR430 (path of St. Regis) to discover amazing landscapes often with the backdrop of the volcanoes of Velay and Mount Mezenc culminating at 1753 m, for the more athletic, we are on the trail of the tour of the lake of Lavalette, a loop of 30 km marked for mountain bikers.
Thanks to our walking and hiking maps (1 to 4 hours), the Tençoise countryside will surprise you with its hilly landscapes, its springs and streams, its lakes and its many medium mountain rivers, its green meadows, its forests covered with blueberries and mushrooms, its paths lined with broom and ferns, at the bend of a path, perhaps you will come across Compostela pilgrims coming from Switzerland or the Rhine?
In the evening, you can relax in the Spa or the outdoor Sauna or get a massage from Agnès before discovering the local cuisine and Auvergne specialities cooked with fresh local products. During your hikes, an unsuspected historical and rural heritage awaits you; like these small hamlets where time seems to have stopped, there are still beautiful typical farms from the 18th and 19th centuries, with beautiful granite buildings and roofs of slate or thatch, with solid arched facades of the stone barns, but also these small houses of beates topped by a bell tower and sometimes a virgin and child nestled in the facade. At the crossroads, you can admire beautiful stone crosses often carved in old menhirs and many other things ...
