UMOJA WOMEN
Bandas with restaurant on the Waso Nyero River, in a women's hostel near the Samburu Reserve.
Located near the entrance to the Samburu reserve, Umoja is an exclusively female village, a place of welcome and protection for women who come from far away, sometimes without resources, widows or victims of violence. Women and children live there. They are free to stay as long as they wish. The community is under the responsibility of Rebecca Lolosoli who works for their survival. On a piece of land on the banks of the Waso Nyero River, she owns a restaurant and a dozen bandas which she makes available to visitors.
