A demanding hike, but at the summit you'll be rewarded with an incredible view of the plains and desert. The ascent of the sacred mountain Ololokwe, in Samburu country, is best done in the company of local warriors, sometimes on sandy paths, sometimes on steep sections. Ololokwe is not isolated. Two smaller mountains connect to form a horseshoe around a valley called Sabache. Ideally, you should stay at the camp of the same name the night before, so that you can attack the summit early in the morning.
