A huge dam, 150 m high, with a breathtaking view on the whole valley at Turkwell Gorges.
The huge dam - at 150 m high - is located about 40 km from Ken Gen by a winding road through the mountains. The view over the entire valley, well beyond the Nasolot Reserve, is breathtaking. You can see the Turkwel River disappear on the horizon, lined with vegetation, which joins Lake Turkana a hundred kilometres to the north. Around the fragile watercourses, nothingness, the desert as far as the eye can see. Beyond this limit, continuing northwards, you enter the land of the Turkana, one of the ethnic groups least affected by the modern world.
