The Shompole Conservancy is a large private conservation area located between Lake Magadi to the north and Lake Natron (on the Tanzanian border) to the south, two alkaline lakes. Nestled under giant fig trees and running alongside the Ewaso Ng'iro River, this is an area of Kenya far removed from mass tourism, where you'll find only a resort with 6 luxury tents. A festival of colors, lakes covered with pink flamingos, zebras and giraffes, and a welcoming, authentic Maasai community are on the agenda for your few days here.
