Two golf tournaments, one for men and one for women, bringing together the world's elite, are held every year not far from Mombasa.
The Magical Kenya Open golf tournament is a set of two tournaments, one for men and one for women, held every year in February at Vipingo Ridge, Baobab Course, just outside Mombasa. Probably one of the few places in the world where you'll see golfers rubbing shoulders with zebras, elands and giraffes. Some of the world's elite players gather in Mombasa to compete in the only round to be held in southern Africa. In 2024, world top 30 player Darius Vandriel won the men's event.
