Every year on the beach of Diani, the event attracts kitesurfing champions and freestyle enthusiasts, foreign and national.

Every year, Diani Beach celebrates wind and speed! Amateur and professional kiteboarding champions come together on the magnificent Diani Beach for an international freestyle competition. The Kenya Kite Cup usually takes place over two days, on the last weekend in January. It is one of the most coveted sporting events in Kenya. Since 2022, the Kenya Kite Cup has raised funds for "Diani Turtle Watch", a program to protect sea turtles and their natural environment.
