CHURCH OF SANTO DOMINGO
Church with a baroque layout typical of the Iberian style with a nave and eleven side chapels, the town hall in the former convent
The church was built in the 16th century on a privileged site at the end of the walls and was rebuilt in the 17th century. It has a very particular and original silhouette for the island, a baroque layout representative of the Iberian style of the time, and has a nave and eleven side chapels. The former convent of the Dominican order, which took refuge here in 1587 after pirate attacks, is adjacent to the chapel and now houses the offices of the Town Hall. The parish festival takes place on June 29, St. Peter's Day.
