CAPELLA D'EN SERRA
Chapel accessible from the road connecting Saint Josep to the airport where you can see an image of Christ with peasant skirts
Access to this chapel is via the road that connects Sant Josep to the airport (diversion to the Serra path 1.5 km after leaving the town). It is a place of prayer and pilgrimage for the peasants of the region. The chapel was built at the beginning of the 20th century by an island resident (Vicente Serra: the letters V and S are on either side of the entrance) who went to war in Algeria. He had promised to build a chapel on the Puig d'en Serra if he came back alive. Inside is a curious image of Christ dressed in peasant skirts.
