CHURCH OF SANT ANTONI
One of the oldest churches in Ibiza, its thick walls and defensive tower are typical of the traditional style of the island
After the cathedral of Ibiza, the church of Sant Antoni is the oldest religious construction on the island. Built from the 14th century on a small hill near the port, then rebuilt in the 16th century and again in the following century, it is representative of the traditional style of Ibiza, with its thick walls and defence tower. The inner courtyard with its pews surrounding the olive trees is a haven of peace in the middle of a turbulent city, where parishioners gather to chat after mass. The parish feast is held on January 17.
