CHURCH OF SANT FRANCESC
Gothic church with a single impressive nave and 4 galleries around a patio and its well
The Gothic church of this remarkable architectural ensemble, the Convent of St Francis, was built in the 14th century. It contains a single large nave, which is quite impressive. Behind the high altar is the tomb of Ramón Llull, beatified in 1988. The main façade is from the 17th century. The portico is a work by Francisco de Herrera. The cloister, which can be accessed from the church, is a fine example of Gothic architecture. Four galleries are arranged harmoniously around a central patio and its well.
