AJUNTAMENT DE PALMA
Palma Town Hall with a large gallery with 2 side doors decorated with baroque shields
The Palma Town Hall is housed in an elegant Renaissance palace built in the 17th century in the Plaça de Cort. It used to house the old Hospital de Sant Andreu, whose Gothic portal can still be seen. Its Baroque façade displays Mannerist elements of great finesse. On the ground floor, the two side doors are decorated with Baroque shields, and in the centre there is a large gallery, popularly known as the "Lazy Man's Bench". It is also crowned by a very wide eaves supported by caryatids.
