ALMUDAINA PALACE
Old Mudéjar-style Muslim alcázar with a beautiful collection of paintings, liturgical furniture and tapestries from the period
Adjacent to the cathedral, this former Muslim alcázar was home to the Moorish kings and later to the Catholic kings of Majorca, Aragon and Spain. If you look up to the sky, you will notice that a statue crowns the building: it is the Archangel Gabriel. The palace has a rectangular floor plan and is part of the Levantine Gothic style. It has two wings: the King's Palace (in the rectangular tower) and the Queen's Palace, to the west. A beautiful collection of paintings, liturgical furniture and tapestries of the period decorate its interior, where the Mudejar style predominates. Not to be missed.
