SANCTUARY OF SANT SALVADOR
Sanctuary, serving as a defense and refuge for the inhabitants, offering a magnificent view of Artà and its surroundings
The sanctuary of Sant Salvador is a chapel surrounded by a defensive citadel of Muslim origin that was rebuilt several times during the 12th and 15th centuries. The walls already existed in the Muslim era and served as a defence and refuge for the inhabitants. The sanctuary itself was built in 1342 under the impulse of Pedro III, King of Aragon. Today it is a peaceful and relaxing place with a magnificent view of Artà and its surroundings.

Riche patrimoine culturel et architectural de la ville avec ses remparts typiques de la période mauresque, agrémentés de palmiers : tout cela contribue à faire voyager, par la pensée, encore plus loin que les baléares.
