PORTAL DE SANT ROC
This 14th century gothic style gate is the only remnant of the old city wall
The Portal de Sant Roc is the only vestige of the town's ancient city wall. This 14th-century Gothic-style gate (built around 1359) is topped by two large defensive towers with machicolations. It was one of the town's medieval entrances. The axis that crosses it is that of the road that once led to Ciutadella. The gate was restored after being destroyed by a Turkish attack in 1535, and is now preserved as a historic monument. Several associations currently occupy the premises.
