LE CIRQUE D'ARTOUX
A cirque culminating at 1,380 meters above sea level, located at Anzat-le-Luguet, home to remarkable flora and fauna.
Valley of glacial origin, the cirque of Artoux (also written "Artout") culminates at 1 380 m of altitude. As a reminder, a cirque is a natural enclosure with steep walls, circular or semi-circular in shape. It is overhung by the three highest peaks of the Cézallier: the Signal du Luguet (1 551 m), the Pépendille (1 543 m) and the Mont Perche (1 511 m). The fauna and flora of the cirque of Artoux are remarkable with several protected species. To make the most of these beautiful landscapes, we recommend a 7.5 km hike starting from the chapel of Luguet.
