DOMAINE IN BLACK - LAMBERT SPIELMANN
This very small estate of 1.5 ha was born under the impetus of Lambert Spielmann, a dashing thirty-year-old lover of natural wines. It is quite notable that Lambert does not come from a long line of winegrowers as is generally the case in Alsace. He trained partly with Yves Amberg (a renowned winegrower based in Epfig) before taking the plunge and creating the Domaine in Black 2 years ago. His vines are mainly located in Epfig, Nothalten and Obernai. Today, he vinifies the 7 Alsatian grape varieties to produce very natural vintages with names based on very evocative puns: "Red Z'Epfig" (maceration of pinot noir and pinot gris), "Adul'terre" (gewurztraminer in maceration), "Blanc à Trois" (blend of pinot gris, riesling and sylvaner), "Mariage plus Vieux" (sylvaner and gewurztraminer in long maceration). You can discover these curious and tasty wines at the estate by appointment or, in particular, at the wine shop La Raison du Vin in Sélestat.
