SANT CRISTÒFOL CHURCH
Visit this typical Menorcan church with its white façade and yellow painted borders
A typical Menorcan church with a white façade and yellow painted borders. Its construction took place over a hundred years, and began in 1750. Its architecture, reminiscent of that of Es Mercadal and Ferreries, is simple: it has a single nave surrounded by chapels, the last of which - that of the Blessed Sacrament, to the left of the altar - was completed in 1861. The interior of the church is just as sober as the exterior, without ornamentation, and very bright. During the Civil War, the religious images in the church were unfortunately destroyed.
