SANTA AGUEDA CASTLE
Discover the remains of an Arab castle in this remote area of the island
In this isolated area of the island you can discover the remains of an Arabic castle that dates back to the time of Muslim Minorca (the Balearic Islands were annexed to the Caliphate of Córdoba in 903). To get there, however, you have to walk along an old Roman road that leads to the plateau, 264 metres above sea level, where the castle was built. This absolutely remarkable site has a dozen towers still standing (out of 37 original ones) and offers a breathtaking view of the whole island.
