BOTECO BELMONTE
Botequins are an essential part of Carioca culture. The Belmonte boteco, on avenue Atlantica, opposite the famous "orla", is a classic, a bistro dating back to 1952, the first in the Belmonte chain of botequins, which has since spread throughout Rio (7 addresses in all, in Leblon, Ipanema, Lapa...). The other not-to-be-missed boteco is Ipanema, on avenida souto vieira, which is modern, trendy and a little noisy. Everything on the menu is good! The shrimp moqueca is really hearty, as are the salgados of different flavors.
