A must for Portuguese cuisine in Rio! In this beautiful building dating from 1936, close to the Selarón staircase, the Adega Flor de Coimbra serves excellent Lusitanian dishes. Many Brazilian artists and intellectuals, such as the painter Candido Portinari, have frequented this historic, and now listed, venue. The setting is a little faded and the area very touristy, but a meal in this restaurant remains a beautiful... and expensive experience in Lapa. The area is not always safe, so be careful. Worth knowing.
