In Ipanema, Delirio Tropical (one of the first Carioca restaurant networks, with 7 other addresses in the city) has taken the daring gamble of offering salads as a main course. Quite a challenge in a country where meat seems to be an essential part of every meal and a sign of financial affluence! It has to be said that the varied and tasty salads, savoury tarts and crêpes (savoury and sweet) make an excellent breakfast. The icing on the cake is that you can enjoy them 30 m from the ocean in a beautiful two-storey building with large, exposed windows.
