COPACABANA PALACE, A BELMOND HOTEL, RIO DE JANEIRO
Copacabana Palace, a Belmond Hotel that is probably the most famous hotel in Rio, designed in 1920 by the Frenchman Joseph Gire.
The Copacabana Palace, now the Hotel Belmond, is a veritable institution. It is undoubtedly Rio's best-known hotel, designed in 1920 by the Frenchman Joseph Gire, on the model of the palaces on the Côte d'Azur. Everything here is refined. On the second floor, the lounge can accommodate 2,000 guests under its gilded chandeliers. Some rooms are as large as 50 m². The bathtubs are carved from marble. This institution never goes out of fashion. There's also the excellent Italian restaurant "La Pérgula".
