JOCKEY CLUB BRASILEIRO
You don't have to be a horse racing enthusiast to enjoy spending 1 or 2 hours at the Jockey Club in Gávea: the natural site is absolutely sumptuous, with a breathtaking view of the Lagoa, the morros and the Corcovado from the stands. The building, inaugurated in 1926 and designed by the French architect André Raimbert, has a rather successful architecture, and the racecourse itself is the largest in Brazil, with its 640,000 m² of surface. The main race of the year, the Brazilian Grand Prix, takes place in early August. Very chic, of course!
