Discovered thanks to our friend Laurent, Baixo Gago has been a veritable institution in the Laranjeiras district since 1940. The petiscos here are excellent and are regular winners of "comida de boteco" competitions. It's both a classic neighborhood bar and one of the best botecos in town. The menu offers a happy mix of traditional and creative petiscos. The meat and bacalhau croquettes are a vegetarian's delight! The mixed Nordestin churrasco is enough for 4 people. Good IPA or classic beers.
