Opened in 2022 near the Sao Thiago armazem, the Agô bar ("thank you" in Yoruba, one of the idioms spoken during candomblé ceremonies) has made a name for itself in Santa Teresa. Kananda Soares, who created the "Favela Hype" concept boutique, is behind this bar, which honours the Afro-Brazilian origins of the place. Stylized paintings of orixas set the tone. The decor blends the new and the ancestral, as does the cocktail menu (Agua de Oxum, Vulgo Malvadao) and dishes (pork loin flambéed in cachaça). Excellent music. A "place to be" in Santa!
