A magnificent building lit up in green at night, with an elevator and a glass-and-steel footbridge, 65 metres above sea level

The magnificent building, lit up green at night and visible from Posto 8 at the end of Rue Teixeira de Melo, is an elevator. Inaugurated in June 2010, it now enables the inhabitants of the Cantagalo favela (and those of the neighbouring, pacified community of Pavão-Pavaozinho) to return home without having to tackle the steep stairs from the foot of the morro. At the top, 65 m above sea level, a glass-and-steel footbridge joins the first houses. A beautiful view.
