Benjamin Constant Museum exhibiting various pieces of furniture, objects, photographs and documents relating to his person and times

This is the beautiful family home turned museum of Benjamin Constant Botelho de Magalhães, leader of the republican movement and minister of the Old Republic. The Swiss writer's namesake helped spread the theory of positivism in Brazil. Constant also ran the Institute for Blind Children for many years. On display here are the various items of furniture, objects, photographs and documents that the statesman and his family used on a daily basis.
