MUSEU NACIONAL DE BELAS ARTES - MNBA
Museum opposite the Municipal Theatre, featuring a permanent exhibition of Brazilian Impressionist works
Currently under renovation. Inaugurated in 1938, this is Rio's main museum for collections of 19th and 20th century Brazilian art, opposite the Municipal Theatre. The permanent exhibition features Brazilian impressionist works (Eliseo Visconti) in the style of Pissarro and Renoir, as well as contemporary art by local artists. The twentieth-century gallery on the second floor is the most interesting, featuring Di Cavalcanti's large fresco, Navio Negreiro.

Un peu déçue par les reproductions, notamment d'oeuvres exposées au Musée du Louvre' plutôt vieillissantes ; avec tout ce que les réserves de ce grand musée regorgent, il est vraiment dommage de leur prêter de vraies sculptures !!
