Two beaches slightly removed from the busiest areas of the southern zone, frequented by surfers and weekend bathers
These two beaches are not the best-known in Rio de Janeiro. They are a little further away from the southern zone and therefore quieter. Nevertheless, they are well worth a stop for a few hours. The beaches of Pepino and São Conrado are overflown by the wings of paragliders and hang-gliders that descend from Pedra Bonita and land there. They are little frequented during the week, but at weekends, surfers and swimmers flock here. It's an upscale, pleasant neighborhood.
