The magnificent Aterro designed by Burle Marx was reclaimed from the sea. It was only intended to be a major road linking the Zona Sul to the city center along the coast. But thanks to the determination of committed urban planners, the project for a huge park running parallel to the road was accepted. Curves, slaloming paths, parks, intertwining trees, jogging tracks, tennis courts, soccer fields and, at the edge, the beach. Often forgotten by tourists, this Flamengo park is a very pleasant place to stroll around.
